About CHHA Computer Bank

Tonksie and Mac at CHHAComputerBank 300x224 About CHHA Computer BankCHHAComputerBank has devolved from ComputerBank Hunter which originated as part of the NSW ComputerBank Project.

We accept donations of computers and IT equipment from individuals, commerce, industry and government sources, to refurbish the computers and make them available to community organisations and deserving people rather than be dumped in land-fill.

Many people have played a part in growing CHHAComputerBank, none more so than the graduates of a Work for the Dole Project known as IT Artisans.

The IT Artisans program gave mature-aged unemployed and semi-retired people the opportunity to learn about all facets of computer technology with a particular focus on computers in business.

Graduates of that program are the backbone of the CHHAComputerBank but they have been joined by volunteers from all walks of life.

Many had little or no knowledge of computers while others had been experimenting with the technology for their own satisfaction.

In the friendly CHHAComputerBank environment, everyone can expand their knowledge whilst achieving a worthwhile result for the less fortunate or needy in our community.
